Massive attack_Bluelines - 09 - Hymn of thr big wheel
Metric - "Youth Without Youth" (DOP Pre-Cover)

Metric - Youth Without Youth (DOP Pre-Cover)
So, some of you may know that Metric is my favorite band. Emily Haines is one of my key inspirations for writing music. Metric's new album, Synthetica, will be released June 12th. Prior to the debut of their single "Youth Without Youth," Metric wanted their fans to take a shot at covering/interpreting the song before it could be heard. A puzzle on ilovemetric.com revealed sheet music, commentary on "Youth Without Youth," and handwritten lyrics. So, without ever having heard the song or any idea of what the vocal melody will be - we chose to put our spin on the song by only using Emily's lyrics and some hidden clues found in the commentary...like "70s sleaze" and "Gary Glitter beat" - here's the version Blake and I came up with! In the video, we are playing with a backing track of drums and synth that we wrote and put together prior to filming the video. Other than that.. we're just being goofy. Enjoy!
